Errors in Orchestral Scores and Parts

Despite publication of revised editions of orchestral repertoire, many scores and parts still contain significant errors. Norman del Mar's Orchestral Variations (Eulenburg, London, 1981), studies 45 works: newer editions have made some chapters obsolete (e.g. Jonathan del Mar's edition of Beethoven symphonies); most remain valid. Some works, e.g. Debussy, Prélude à L'Après-midi d'un faune) are treated thoroughly in the US Conductors Guild Journal. The list below contains errors found during preparation and rehearsals for concerts. Inquries and contributions are most welcome via the Contact form.  Please give details of edition and your contact details. A credit and link will be given here for verified contributions.
