chamber music course for talented young musicians in Oxford

The
British & American Chamber Music Course presents an international faculty led by Erika Miranda from the Crowden Music School in Berkeley, California.Each student plays in a string quartet and other ensembles. Participants also play some of the greatest string orchestra repertoire, rehearsing at Trinity College Chapel, and perform in a public concert on Friday 13 August at the University Church of St. Mary the Virgin. The course includes morning coaching sessions by expert chamber musicians, afternoons with additional rehearsals and informal ensemble sessions, and time to explore Oxford. Leisure activities include a day-trip to the Roman city of
Bath on Saturday 14 August.The course aims to:
- introduce young string-players to a wide range of chamber music and string orchestra repertoire.
- develop ensemble, sight-reading and interpretation skills including efficient rehearsal techniques.
- give musicians the opportunity to work in a variety of different groups.
